Manchester United emerged victorious from the derby with Arsenal that took place within the sixth week in the Premier League, winning 3-1.
The Red Devils started the game furiously, pressing – but the Gunners quickly caught up
As early as the 12th minute, Arsenal managed to shake David de Gea’s net through Gabriel Martinelli, but it was canceled by VAR for a foul.
Martinelli had a good chance in the 32nd minute, but his header was stopped by the Spanish goalkeeper.
After those two chances, it was United’s turn to break down Arsenal’s defence, which they did through their latest €100m transfer, Antonys.
The Brazilian forward received an assist from Marcus Rashford, managing to beat the London goalkeeper with finesse.
The second half started even more furiously, with three goals being scored.
It was the 60th minute when Arsenal leveled the scores at 1-1 with Bukayo Saka’s goal.
But their joy lasted just six minutes as Marcus Rashford grabbed an assist from Bruno Fernandes to restore the lead to 2-1.
The English striker did not stop there and scored his second personal goal, now in the 75th minute with an assist from Cristian Eriksen.
Until the end, United could score the fourth goal, but Cristiano Ronaldo did not manage to catch the ball, due to a mistake by the visiting players.
After the sixth week, Arsenal continues to be the leader with 15 points, as it is their first defeat this edition, while Manchester United is in fifth with 12 so far.
In the seventh round, the Gunners meet with Everton, while United will have work with Crystal Palace.
