Germany Extends Rosneft Trusteeship

The German government has extended the trusteeship over Rosneft Deutschland GmbH (RDG) and RN Refining & Marketing GmbH (RNRM) until March 10, 2026. The decision, announced by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action on Monday, is based on the Energy Security Act.

This extension maintains control of Rosneft Deutschland and consequently its stake in the PCK Schwedt, Miro (Karlsruhe) and Bayernoil (Vohburg) refineries, under the authority of the Federal Network Agency.

Rosneft Deutschland represents approximately twelve percent of Germany’s total crude oil processing capacity, positioning it among the nation’s largest companies in the sector. The Ministry stated that the trusteeship extension is intended to further safeguard Germany’s energy supply, with a particular focus on ensuring the provision of energy for the states of Berlin and Brandenburg and securing the Schwedt location.
