Russian commanders are “making fun” of Minister Shoigu

Russia

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is being “sidelined” within the country’s leadership.

Thus, operational commanders are now reporting directly to Vladimir Putin. This is what the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom has said.

In its next intelligence update, the ministry said this was due to “problems facing Russia” in the war with Ukraine.

They added that Russian officers and soldiers “probably routinely mock” Shoigu for his “ineffective leadership” as Russian progress in Ukraine has stalled.

Before becoming the country’s defense minister, Shoigu spent most of his career in the construction sector and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Defense Ministry added.
