A leading figure in Germany’s Green Party has commended the federal government’s collaborative efforts with European partners regarding the pursuit of peace in Ukraine. Andreas Audretsch, parliamentary group vice-chair, emphasized the importance of a unified front, specifically highlighting the strong relationship maintained with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, as well as coordination with France, the United Kingdom, NATO and the European Commission.
“Only through this cohesion can a significant impact be achieved” Audretsch stated in interviews with RTL and ntv. He further noted the necessity of a resolute response should Russian President Putin escalate military actions, referencing observed intensification of operations.
Audretsch stressed the importance of European solidarity, ideally reinforced by continued collaboration with the United States, particularly in light of the recent meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. He implied that a consistently united approach is crucial in addressing the ongoing conflict and maintaining a strong diplomatic position.
