A fatal traffic accident occurred on Friday evening on the B 257 near Quiddelbach. According to police in Adenau, the incident took place at approximately 8:16 PM, involving a head-on collision between a BMW and a Ford Fiesta.
The driver of the BMW, a 37-year-old British national, reportedly veered into the oncoming lane while navigating a left-hand curve, resulting in the collision. All six occupants of the two vehicles sustained serious injuries. Tragically, a passenger in the Ford Fiesta, a citizen of France, later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The B 257 was closed to traffic between Adenau and Potsdamer Platz while investigators processed the scene. Both vehicles involved in the accident suffered a complete loss, sustaining extensive damage. Police are continuing to investigate the precise circumstances that led to the collision.
