Kravis expressed surprise and positivity regarding the recent German government’s approval of a significant economic stimulus package, valued at approximately €1 trillion. He specifically noted the magnitude of the commitment – €500 billion allocated to infrastructure development and a further €500 billion earmarked for defense initiatives – observing that this level of investment is unprecedented in Germany’s recent history and has generated considerable enthusiasm amongst investors.
When questioned about KKR’s future investment strategy in Germany, Kravis confirmed a plan to increase the firm’s involvement. He emphasized KKR’s particular interest in companies operating within sectors poised for significant growth and transformation, including those focused on the energy transition, the development of digital infrastructure, industrial automation and defense technologies. This signals a targeted approach focused on key areas of strategic importance for the German economy.
