Czech President Spotted Snapping Photos at Grand Prix

The Czech Republic’s President Petr Pavel made a surprise appearance over the weekend, appearing as an unassuming sports photographer at a motorsport Grand Prix.

Photographers identified the 63-year-old at Sunday’s “MotoGP” event in Brno, positioned trackside in casual attire and equipped with a professional telephoto lens. A presidential spokesperson later confirmed that Pavel’s presence was a private one, unrelated to any official engagement.

The President is known to be an avid motorsports enthusiast and possesses a noted passion for high-end photographic equipment. Earlier this year, he attended the 2025 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia, participating as a regular spectator. Photographs he took during the event were subsequently displayed at the National Technical Museum in Prague.
