Man Injured After Falling From Oldenburg Building

A man sustained serious injuries after jumping from the roof of a high-rise building in Oldenburg’s city center following a protracted rescue operation. Police and emergency services were engaged in the situation since the previous evening, responding to reports of a man on the roof of a building on 91er-Straße who had expressed suicidal intentions, according to a statement released Saturday evening by the Oldenburg-Stadt/Ammerland Police Inspectorate.

Specialized police units spent several hours attempting to de-escalate the situation and prevent the man from jumping. He reportedly threatened immediate self-harm if officers approached. Ultimately, the man jumped from the roof shortly before 3:45 PM local time and was immediately attended to by paramedics on scene. He was subsequently transported to a hospital and his current condition remains undisclosed.

During the rescue effort, sections of 91er-Straße were closed to traffic. Road closures were lifted in the afternoon following the completion of the operation.
