Leica’s Century Milestone Marks a New Era in Smartphones
As Leica, the renowned German camera tradition company, prepares to mark its 100th anniversary, it is set to release a smartphone in Europe. According to Andreas Kaufmann, the company’s supervisory board chairman, the device is expected to hit the market in the fall, pending a successful launch. When asked about the price, Kaufmann hinted it would be in the four-digit range, comparable to Apple’s pricing.
The company has ambitious plans for the coming years, with Kaufmann stating, “Tradition is not just about venerating the past, but about passing on the flame.” Leica remains committed to its independence, with Kaufmann emphasizing, “Leica is not for sale. We believe we can still achieve a lot as a family in the next ten years.
