German Rapper's Debut Album 'Traence' Conquers the Charts!

Music Charts in Germany Reflect New Releases and Established Acts

The German singer and rapper Souly has taken the top spot on the official German album charts with his album “Traence”, according to the GfK, a leading market research and analysis company, which announced the news on Friday. This marks the first number one album for the Berlin-based artist, who had previously enjoyed a 14-week run in the single charts with his song “Bundeswehr” last year.

Metallica’s re-released album “Load” takes the second spot, while Linkin Park’s “From Zero” and Takt32’s “Den Umständen widersprechend” occupy the third and fourth positions, respectively. The Cure’s “Mixes Of A Lost World” rounds out the top five.

In the single charts, Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” maintains its lead, followed closely by Zartmann’s “Tau mich auf” and Jazeek’s “Akon”. Apache 207’s “GWHF” makes a strong debut, jumping to the 24th spot and claiming the title of best new entry.

The official German charts, compiled by GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Federal Association of the German Music Industry, account for approximately 90% of all music sales in the country.
