German Government Refrains from Speculating on US-Iran Conflict Ahead of NATO Summit
Berlin, Germany – The German government has declined to speculate on the possibility of a US attack on Iran ahead of the upcoming NATO summit, citing the need to focus on European security and defense issues.
Government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius emphasized that the summit should not be seen as an opportunity to discuss potential military targets or non-targets and that Germany should not fuel the situation.
When asked about the situation in the Middle East, Kornelius stated that the government believes the NATO summit should focus on European security and the strengthening of European defense, rather than speculating on the US’s potential military plans.
The US President, Donald Trump, had previously announced that a decision on the US’s involvement in the conflict between Israel and Iran would be made within the next two weeks, coinciding with the NATO summit in the Netherlands on June 24 and 25.
