EU Cracks Down on Illegal Pet Trade in Shocking Move!

The European Parliament has adopted new measures to combat the illegal trade of puppies and kittens, a move aimed at curbing inhumane business practices and ensuring better living conditions for animals.

The new regulations, which will come into effect soon, require breeders and traders to register, microchip and adhere to stricter standards of animal care and breeding. These measures are primarily designed to tackle the cruel and unscrupulous trade of animals, where pets are often kept in inhumane conditions.

According to Günther Sidl, an Austrian MEP, the new rules will also create fair conditions for responsible breeders, while leaving private pet owners unaffected. The decision was initially approved by the Agriculture Committee in early June and has now been confirmed in the plenary session.
