A recent poll by the Insa Institute, cited in the German newspaper Bild, suggests a decline in the popularity of the Union, with a hypothetical Bundestagswahl on the next Sunday projecting a 27% share of the vote for CDU/CSU, a 0.5 percentage point decrease from the previous week and 1.5 percentage points less than the result of the February Bundestagswahl.
Meanwhile, the AfD is reported to have gained 0.5 percentage points, now standing at 23%, while the Greens and the Left Party each gained 0.5 percentage points, reaching 11.5% and 10.5%, respectively. The BSW, on the other hand, has lost 0.5 percentage points, now at 4%.
The SPD and FDP remain unchanged at 16% and 4%, respectively, while the remaining parties collectively garnered 4% of the vote, a 0.5 percentage point decrease. Insa’s CEO, Hermann Binkert, was quoted in the Bild as saying, “Currently, the three opposition factions would receive more votes than the two governing factions if new elections were held.
