BREAKING: Israel Goes Dark: All Diplomatic Missions Shut Down Worldwide

Israel Temporarily Closes Embassies, Cites Security Concerns After Iran Military Strikes

Israel has announced the temporary closure of its diplomatic missions worldwide, effective immediately and will no longer provide consular services until further notice. The decision, communicated by the country’s embassies on Friday, affects the Israeli embassy in Berlin, among others.

Citizens of Israel abroad are still being asked to fill out an online form to report their whereabouts and current status, a measure aimed at helping the Foreign Ministry maintain a clear picture of the situation of its citizens abroad. In emergency situations, Israelis are advised to contact the ministry’s crisis center immediately.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry also recommends heeding the recommendations of the National Security Council for the relevant host country, as well as general security guidelines for Israelis abroad. This includes refraining from displaying Jewish or Israeli symbols in public, avoiding sharing identifiable details about their location or travel plans on social media and steering clear of large gatherings or events associated with Israel or Jewish communities. In the event of hostile activities, citizens are instructed to promptly follow the instructions of local security forces.
