German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has announced additional billion-euro aid for Ukraine during a visit to Kiev. The additional 1.9 billion euros will be used to finance long-range rockets, the minister stated on Thursday.
However, the flow of funds is contingent on a Bundestag decision. Germany’s military aid to Ukraine is expected to rise to nearly nine billion euros this year, with the country’s support now in the range of four billion euros, according to Pistorius. This follows a recent increase from seven billion euros, with further supplementation planned.
The timing of the Bundestag’s decision remains unclear.
