Ukraine will help the EU resist Russian energy pressure.
Ukraine is preparing to increase electricity exports to the European Union (EU) to help it “resist energy pressure” from Russia.
“We will increase the export of electricity to consumers in the EU,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.
The statement of the Ukrainian president comes a day after the agreement of the EU member states to reduce gas consumption in a coordinated manner and to help Germany after the drastic reduction of Russian deliveries.
Ukraine and the EU accuse Moscow of using gas as an economic and political weapon.
“Despite the war, we have ensured the integration of Ukrainian networks into the European system in record time.
Our exports allow us not only to increase foreign exchange earnings, but also to help our partners resist the pressure of Russian energy.
We will gradually make Ukraine a country that guarantees Europe’s energy security,” Zelensky said.
Otherwise, Russia has already reduced the delivery of gas to EU member states.
