Ukraine Reports Record Drone and Missile Attack by Russia, with Most Missiles and Drones Neutralized by Defense Systems
In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict, Ukraine’s air force reported a massive drone and missile attack by Russia, with the largest number of drones and missiles launched against the country since the war began. According to the Ukrainian air force, on Monday, Russia deployed 479 drones and 20 cruise missiles, targeting 10 locations with direct hits and 17 locations with drone crashes.
While the majority of the missiles and drones were intercepted or neutralized by Ukraine’s air defense systems and electronic warfare units, the attack still caused significant damage and disruption. The drones, primarily of the Shahed type, were used in the assault, alongside various cruise missiles, including four hypersonic missiles and two air-to-ground missiles. The targets of the attack were spread across the entire Ukraine, with the full extent of the damage still being assessed.
