A man has been arrested and a warrant issued for his detention after allegedly driving a car into a group of people in Passau on Saturday afternoon, according to a police spokesperson of the Mediengruppe Bayern, citing a report by the Passauer Neue Presse.

A judge at the Amtsgericht Passau made the decision on Sunday and the 48-year-old man is now being held in a justice facility, with a charge of attempted murder.

The incident occurred on Saturday, when the man allegedly drove his car into a group of people, including his 40-year-old wife and their five-year-old daughter, who were among the injured. A possible custody dispute may have been the motive behind the attack.
