A Recent Surge in Popularity for the Left Party Continues
According to the latest poll conducted by the Insa opinion research institute for the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, the Left Party has gained one percentage point, now standing at 11% and has surpassed the Greens for the first time in seven years. The Greens, in contrast, have lost a point and now hold a 10% share of the vote.
The CDU/CSU remains at the top of the poll, with 26% of the vote, a one-point decline from the previous week, while the AfD maintains its 24% share. The SPD has seen a one-point increase, reaching a four-month high of 17%, slightly exceeding its 2017 Bundestag election result of 16.4%.
The FDP, BSW and other parties, which are not represented in the Bundestag, remain at 4% each, with no changes in the poll. The survey, which questioned 1,203 people between May 26 and 30, 2025, provides a snapshot of the current political landscape in Germany.
