German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has called on the federal government to engage in less public bickering and to focus more on finding solutions to the country’s pressing issues.
In an interview with MDR Aktuell, Steinmeier expressed hope that the government would adopt a different approach in its internal discussions, one that does not involve publicly dramatizing every disagreement. He emphasized the need for the government to concentrate on finding compromises, wherever possible, rather than resorting to public feuding.
Steinmeier’s concerns extend beyond the tone of the government’s discussions, however, as he also emphasized the need for concrete solutions. For instance, he pointed to the issue of energy prices, a prominent topic that the federal government is expected to address first. The president stressed the need for tangible changes that would have a positive impact on people’s living conditions and the economy.
Steinmeier’s message is clear: the government must not only adopt a more constructive tone in its internal debates but also deliver on its promises and provide effective solutions to the country’s pressing problems.
