Berlin, Germany – The Union has rejected a plan proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin to create a buffer zone. According to Jürgen Hardt, the foreign policy spokesperson of the Bundestagsfraktion, the proposal “serves Putin’s false narrative of Russia being threatened by NATO and therefore, it must be rejected.”
Hardt further emphasized that the Ukrainian Constitution clearly states the country’s full territorial sovereignty over its entire state territory, with the exception of a buffer zone being built on Russian territory.
In a related development, the Ukrainian government has rejected the plan proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin for a buffer zone along the border with Ukraine, calling the demands a clear rejection of peace efforts.
