In the final match of the 2024/2025 Bundesliga season, SC Freiburg lost 1-3 to Eintracht Frankfurt at home, missing out on a spot in the Champions League. Dortmund secured fourth place with a 3-0 victory against Kiel, while Leipzig was unable to qualify for the Conference League playoffs with a 2-3 home loss against Stuttgart. Mainz 05 finished sixth with a 2-2 draw against Leverkusen and Heidenheim ended the season on the relegation spot with a 1-4 home defeat against Werder Bremen.

Freiburg took the lead early in the game with a goal from Doan after a throw-in in the 27th minute, but Knauff equalized in the fourth minute of stoppage time in the first half. Kristensen scored the decisive second goal in the 61st minute and Manzambi accidentally scored an own goal in the 63rd minute, sealing the 3-1 victory for Frankfurt.

Dortmund got off to a strong start with Guirassy scoring in the third minute after a penalty kick from Holtby. Johansson was sent off in the ninth minute for a foul on Adeyemi, but Dortmund capitalized on the extra man with Sabitzer’s goal in the 47th minute and Nmecha’s final goal in the 73rd minute.

Leipzig’s Xavi opened the scoring with a beautiful header in the eighth minute, but Undav replied with a header of his own in the 23rd minute. Nübel saved Xavi’s shot in the 44th minute, but Baku capitalized on the rebound to make it 2-1. Woltemade and Demirovic scored late goals to secure a 3-2 victory for Stuttgart, leaving RB Leipzig’s European aspirations in tatters.

Mainz took the lead with a goal from Nebel in the 35th minute, but Schick scored twice in quick succession in the second half, first from the penalty spot and then with a fantastic individual effort. Burkhardt’s penalty in the 63rd minute gave Mainz a deserved point against Leverkusen.

In Heidenheim, Werder Bremen took control with a penalty from Schmid in the 14th minute, followed by Stage’s header from Ducksch’s corner in the 33rd minute and Stage’s own goal in the 66th minute. Kerber reduced the deficit for Heidenheim in the 80th minute, but Topp sealed the 1-4 victory for Bremen in the 86th minute.
