German Research Minister Dorothee Bär (CSU) sees significant potential in the field of research on chronic diseases and allergies, particularly focusing on Long Covid. In an interview with “Bild” (Wednesday edition), she emphasized the need for more research outcomes in this area. “We are talking a lot these days about ME/CFS. There are so many Long-Covid patients with these numerous consequences” said Bär. She expressed gratitude for the serious consideration given to this topic. “We still need to work further to ensure that the affected individuals are not only seen but also have a chance at recovery.” The minister has already met and discussed the matter with her colleague, Federal Minister of Health Nina Arke (CDU) and stated that they will closely collaborate on this issue.
