Two women have lost their lives in a severe traffic accident on Landesstraße 105 at the outskirts of Wedel, Schleswig-Holstein. Three other individuals sustained severe injuries, as reported by the Police Directorate Bad Segeberg on Monday.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at 2:50 PM when a Mitsubishi collided with a Hyundai in a head-on collision. The 86-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi from Halstenbek and a female passenger from Pinneberg died at the scene. Another elderly woman from Pinneberg and a 30-year-old couple from Wedel were severely injured and transported to hospitals.
Initial investigations suggest that the Mitsubishi was heading towards Wedel when it veered off the road for an as yet unexplained reason. The accident site was fully closed for over three hours and the estimated damage amounts to around 25,000 euros.
