Green Party’s Fraktionspresidentin Katharina Dröge has urged Federal Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD) to immediately propose the implementation laws for the 500 billion Euro special fund for infrastructure and climate protection. “The federal states are urgently awaiting the implementing regulations and we are also awaiting the economic plan for the investments” Dröge said in an interview with the “Rheinischen Post” (Monday). “In the first year of the government, projects must be identified that should be financed from the financial package, otherwise the hoped-for economic impulse will be wasted” she explained. Additionally, the coalition had pledged to reform the debt brake this year. Dröge now demanded adherence to this pledge. “The fundamental reform of the debt brake must be initiated before the summer break” she demanded. “Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil had publicly promised to reform the debt brake this year. We will take him at his word. Union, SPD, Greens and Linke must meet before the summer break to discuss this” Dröge said.
