US stock markets experienced a slight decline on Friday. At the end of trading in New York, the Dow Jones was calculated at 41,249.38 points, representing a decrease of 0.29% compared to the previous trading day.
Just a few minutes earlier, the broader S&P 500 was down by 0.1% at around 5,660 points and the Nasdaq 100, which represents the technology sector, was also barely down at around 20,060 points.
According to market analysts, US investors are viewing the recent tariff negotiations with Europe positively. However, they are holding back ahead of the upcoming important talks with China.
The European community currency, the Euro, strengthened against the US Dollar on Friday evening. One Euro was worth 1.1256 US Dollars, while one US Dollar was equivalent to 0.8884 Euros.
The gold price also benefited from the market situation, with a fine ounce trading for 3,329 US Dollars (+0.7%). This equates to a price of 95.08 Euros per gram.
The oil price experienced a significant increase on Friday evening. A barrel of Brent crude oil was trading at approximately 63.88 US Dollars, representing a 1.7% increase compared to the previous trading day’s closing price.
