SpVgg Greuther Fürth has parted ways with their head coach Jan Siewert after their recent 0-1 loss against Hertha BSC. The club announced that they will sort out the succession “as soon as possible” on Monday evening.
According to the club’s Sport Director Stephan Fürstner, they have made this difficult decision to give the team a new impetus in the final stretch of the season. “Jan has invested a lot of energy in us in the past months and has played a major role in ensuring that we have our own fate in the matter of staying in the league. Unfortunately, we have not been able to take the final step in recent weeks. We thank Jan for his tireless efforts and wish him all the best for the future” said Fürstner.
Despite the separation, Jan Siewert wishes his former employer all the best: “I am still convinced that the Kleeblatt will stay in the league and am rooting for the team, staff and everyone involved.
