The outgoing Federal Minister of Health, Karl Lauterbach (SPD), plans to continue commenting on health policy in the future. “I will continue to follow health-related topics and generally express my views on health policy questions” said Lauterbach to the news magazine Politico.
Lauterbach stated that he will not be a member of the Health Committee. However, the range of topics in health policy is vast. “There is always something to comment on, there is always something to communicate” said Lauterbach.
He has vowed not to criticize the “new minister”: “It’s not appropriate for a predecessor.” Being the Minister of Health was Lauterbach’s “dream job.” The coalition government was “in many ways” better than its reputation.
