In the 2nd Bundesliga, SC Paderborn defeated FC Schalke 04 with a 2-0 score in the opening match of the 32nd round. Preußen Münster also won with a 5-0 victory against 1. FC Magdeburg.

In the Friday evening match at the Veltins-Arena, Raphael Obermair scored for SCP in the 40th minute with a direct volley from the back, putting his team in front. Marvin Mehlem then doubled the lead in the 48th minute after a brilliant setup by Ilyas Ansah, scoring with a flat finish. Schalke struggled to find their rhythm and the game ended with a deserved away victory for Paderborn.

At the Avnet-Arena, Münster took an early lead with a header from Jorrit Hendrix in the 12th minute, after a precise cross from Marc Lorenz. Lorenz himself scored from a close-range rebound three minutes later, making it 2-0. Daniel Kyerewaa was fouled and Lorenz converted the resulting penalty in the 43rd minute, putting Münster 3-0 up.

Right after the restart, Joshua Mees scored in the 52nd minute with a long-range shot into an empty net and Daniel Kyerewaa completed the victory with a left-footed shot in the 54th minute, making it a 5-0 final score. Münster dominated the entire game and celebrated a convincing win.
