Train tracks caught fire in London.

The train tracks on a bridge in London have caught fire, temporarily stopping the traffic of trains – and according to experts this is happening as a result of the heat wave and high temperatures that are prevailing in this country.

British media reports that the first sparks of fire were seen on the train tracks in Battersea, in the southern part of London.

Steve White, the rail director general, shared a photo of the fire on social media, where he thanked the London Rail Company and the fire brigade.

“Thank you for responding quickly to contain the fire and allow the trains to continue their journey,” added White.

Network Rail Southeast shared another picture of the fire – stressing that the heat will “be a real challenge this week”.

Network Rail is constantly monitoring several locations as temperatures remain high over the next few days, fears that something similar could happen again has forced them to be extra vigilant.
