For the first time, North Korea has confirmed sending its troops to Russia. According to the state news agency KCNA, North Korean soldiers have assisted Russia in regaining control of the territories in the Kursk region that were previously under Ukrainian control. The agency reported that the operations to liberate the Kursk region were “successfully completed” and referred to the actions as “heroic deeds.” Previously, there had been no official confirmation of North Korea’s military support in Russia. However, the deployment of North Korean soldiers was widely known, with several of them being captured by Ukrainian forces. Additionally, it is reported that there were high casualties among the North Korean soldiers and coordination issues with the Russians.
