Pistorius Rejects Normalizing AfD, Vows No Votes for Fascists.

In a live-streaming session with SPD members, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius opposed the proposal to treat the AfD (Alternative for Germany) like other opposition parties in the Bundestag. This is reported by the “Spiegel” based on excerpts from the conference.

Pistorius stated in the online conference on Wednesday that as long as he is politically active, he will not raise his hand and vote for fascists, right-wing extremists, or anyone else. He also said he will never vote for someone from the AfD to become the vice president or third vice president of anything. He does not believe in the idea that normalizing will lead to de-mystification. Those who see how the AfD insults, attacks and stigmatizes cannot expect a normal relationship with them. He differs in this regard from Jens Spahn and Julia Klöckner, who have expressed similar views.

Pistorius believes that the AfD can only be pushed back with good politics. He emphasized that the upcoming government must govern well and make good policies, not following the agenda of the AfD but rather the perception of the people.
