The humanitariann ceasefire declared by President Putin for Easter holidays has ended. It expired at midnight. The President’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskow, stated that Putin did not issue any orders to extend the ceasefire. Media reports suggest that fighting has resumed along the frontlines.

President Putin had unexpectedly declared a ceasefire for the Easter holidays. While the Ukrainian side agreed, Russian officials claimed that it was violated over 1,300 times. Both Ukraine and Russia accused each other of not adhering to the agreement, with Ukraine reporting 900 violations. However, Putin had previously made it clear that Russian troops would respond to any attacks from Ukraine.
