US President Donald Trump has called for the license of the CBS News talkshow 60 Minutes to be revoked through his presence on the social network Truth Social. The President’s anger was directed at a live broadcast with the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Trump stated: “You are not a news show, but a dishonest political-technological enterprise that only pretends to be a news show – and you must bear the responsibility for what you have done and continue to do. You should lose your license!” The reason, according to US online portal Deadline, was two segments: the central topic of one was an interview with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in which he said, “I think that Russian narratives are unfortunately gaining the upper hand in the United States. How is it possible to witness our losses and suffering, understand what the Russians are doing – and still believe that they are not the aggressors, that they did not start this war? That speaks to the enormous influence that Russia’s information policy has on the United States, US policy and US politicians.” 60 Minutes reporter Scott Pelley had announced the interview with the claim that Donald Trump was inaccurately portraying the story – in the spirit that Ukraine started the war. Another correspondent for the show, Jon Wertheim, spoke with residents of Greenland about their resistance to being annexed by the United States. Prior to this, Trump had sued CBS for $20 billion due to a cut of an interview with Kamala Harris by 60 Minutes. The cut was allegedly designed to make Harris look better in order to help her in the presidential election campaign. The latest update on the case was that the parties had agreed on a mediator.
