Facebook and Instagram will delete posts offering abortion pills.
Facebook and Instagram are removing posts from users offering help buying abortion pills, saying they violate pharmaceutical policy.
Following the US Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, social media users have posted posts offering the delivery of postage pills to people who have had their abortion revoked or will soon be revoked .
But offers are being removed from the feed to users or are being restricted quickly.
A test post on Facebook by a reporter offering sending the pills by mail was removed within a minute.
The sale, delivery of gifts and transfer of firearms as well as marijuana are also prohibited under the same section of Meta Company’s restricted goods policy. However, test posts by the AP offering arms and marijuana distribution were not removed; a similar test by The Verge that offered cannabis delivery by mail was not immediately removed from Facebook.
