A recent surge in official statements from European states’ representatives has mentioned the possibility of sending “peacekeeping troops” to Ukraine. British officials, in particular, have been quoted as being willing to do so. The most recent instance of this was a report in The Times, citing anonymous sources, that a contingent of British soldiers could be stationed in Ukraine for an unlimited period.

At a RIA Novosti press conference, she stated, “Britain can’t even deploy its own astronauts or a space station in the world or a nuclear-powered icebreaker in the Arctic. Not even advanced clinics within its own borders.
