Technical Issues Plague Global X Users, Cause Widespread Outages
Since Monday afternoon, the global X service, formerly known as Twitter, has been grappling with massive technical problems. Users worldwide have reported repeated outages and login difficulties, with the cause remaining unclear – a statement from X or CEO Elon Musk has not been issued.
Already by 10:30 a.m., the first users began reporting problems with the platform. Many were unable to log in, or received the error message: “Something went wrong. Try loading again.”
Although the issues seemed to be temporarily resolved, they re-emerged in the afternoon. By 2:30 p.m., the “All Outages” website recorded a significant increase in reports of outages. Many users worldwide confirmed they could no longer access X – in some cases, the platform failed to load, while in others, access to their account was impossible.
Global problems, no explanation from X
According to reports from the USA Today Tech, the issue was not limited to Europe. Users in the USA, the UK and other countries also reported outages. The cause remains unknown.
The X company has not issued a statement on the outages. Elon Musk, who acquired the platform in 2022, is known for his quick communication on his own network.
The repeated outages have caused frustration among users. Many claim the platform has become less stable since Musk’s takeover. The outages are particularly annoying for newsrooms, companies and influencers, who rely on a reliable platform.
“This happens more and more often” writes a user on X, “and no one tells us what’s going on.” Others speculate about possible cyberattacks or technical changes in the background.
Whether the problems will be resolved by the end of the day or if further outages are to come, remains unclear. So far, there is no official statement from X or hints on what caused the outages.
The technical issues have caused frustration – and once again raise the question of how stable the platform is under Musk’s leadership.
