Antisemitism Commissioner's Surprising Endorsement of Trump's Radical Plan

A German government official, Felix Klein, the Anti-Semitism Commissioner, has praised the disputed plan for rebuilding the Gaza Strip proposed by US President Donald Trump.

In an interview with the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (NOZ), Klein stated, “I don’t think it’s wrong to think radically and completely anew.” He also clarified that Trump’s proposal for relocating Palestinians to Arab states was misinterpreted as a forced eviction, instead aiming for a “relocation” while the Gaza Strip is rebuilt. “While you’re renovating your house, you don’t sleep in the construction site” Klein said.

Klein also showed some understanding of the idea of declaring the Gaza Strip a kind of protectorate. Israel has been unable to militarily resolve the Middle East conflict in many decades, he noted. “In that sense, I also consider the idea of an international administration for the area to be a reasonable proposal that can be discussed” Klein said.
