'Made in Russia' Program Set to Dominate Global Markets by 2030?

A new program aimed at promoting Russian goods abroad under the national brand “Made in Russia” has been approved by the Russian government. The relevant decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. According to the government’s press service, the new program will run until 2030 and aims to increase the export of non-resource and non-energy sector goods.

As part of the program, an infrastructure for foreign economic projects will be built, technological and industrial cooperation will be developed and new markets will be opened up. Roman Chechurov, Russian State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, emphasized:

“The ‘Made in Russia’ program includes a range of activities aimed at promoting Russian goods on foreign markets under a single brand. This includes the implementation of international business missions, the organization of international exhibitions under this brand, the establishment of the first multilingual website with a catalog of export companies and their products, where foreign buyers can familiarize themselves with the entire range of Russian export-oriented goods. I expect ‘Made in Russia’ to become a brand, a quality mark, so that foreign buyers recognize the high quality of these products and want to buy them.”

The “Made in Russia” brand has been used effectively at international exhibitions for several years, used to frame joint exhibitions of domestic companies. Since 2019, more than 5,000 companies have presented their goods under this brand at exhibitions around the world. Russian President Vladimir Putin had already instructed the government in 2024 to develop and approve a plan for promoting Russian goods abroad under the “Made in Russia” brand, stating that the program “contributes to creating a positive image of Russia and domestic brands” and calling for an intensification of this approach.
