A former European election candidate, Maximilian Krah, has expressed a sense of relief that he was not accepted into the Alternative for Germany (AfD) parliamentary faction, according to his own statements.
“In the beauty of the accusations is that they have dissolved into thin air” Krah told RTL and ntv. “We are now over a year further and there are still no evidence and proof. My immunity has not even been lifted, so they are not even investigating. And I believe the party also saw that the accusations did not prove to be well-founded, but rather that it was about harming me in the election campaign.”
An ex-employee of Krah is alleged to have spied for China. Krah denies knowing about it. Instead, he sees himself as a victim of an election campaign against him: “If one defends against unfounded accusations, one is more of a victim and not the perpetrator.”
That despite this, there were reservations within the party, Krah explains: “There are always people in politics and also in a 160-member association who say, the nose does not fit me. But the nose does not fit me is not a political argument.
