FDP to Decide on Party Leadership at Upcoming Meeting

The Free Democratic Party (FDP) will not make a final decision on its party leadership at the upcoming meeting on Monday, according to the “Rheinische Post” citing sources from the party’s inner circles.

FDP Vice Wolfgang Kubicki and European politician Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann are reportedly considering candidacies for the party’s chairmanship, with both planning to make a statement after the ongoing meeting of the party’s committees.

A dual party leadership, however, is considered unlikely, as FDP Chief Christian Lindner had announced his resignation following the party’s election defeat on Sunday.
