German Green party’s co-leader Robert Habeck has announced he will not seek a leading role in the Bundestag faction of the party after the recent federal election, in which the Greens underperformed. According to Habeck, he will no longer claim or strive for a leading position in the party’s personnel tables. He cited the election campaign, which he described as strong, as the reason for his decision.
Habeck stated that the party will “reorganize in a new role” and will hold an election for the party’s executive faction leader on Wednesday, followed by further personnel decisions in the relevant committees.
