BOMBSHELL: US on the Brink of Historic Snub, World Hold's Breath as Ukraine Resolution Hangs in the Balance

The United States has reportedly declined to support a United Nations resolution that condemns “Russian aggression” against Ukraine, according to a Reuters report. The UN General Assembly is set to publish the document on the third anniversary of the Ukraine conflict, which would support the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

Sources close to the matter told Reuters that the US had traditionally supported similar resolutions in support of Ukraine, but a change in stance is now evident. The UN is still working on the resolution and over 50 countries have expressed support for the document, according to another source. At the moment, the US is not expected to sign the resolution, the source added.

Washington may still change its stance, Reuters emphasized. The UN is focusing on securing support from other countries, including the global south, instead.

Separately, the Financial Times reported that the US has asked the G7 countries to refrain from using the phrase “Russian aggression” in a statement marking the third anniversary of the Ukraine conflict.
