British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed his willingness to deploy British ground troops to Ukraine to secure a potential peace agreement. In an op-ed piece published in the “Daily Telegraph” on Monday, Starmer writes that securing a lasting peace in Ukraine is “indispensable” to prevent future aggression by Putin. He notes that this decision is not taken lightly, stating, “I deeply feel the responsibility that comes with potentially putting British soldiers in harm’s way.”
The Prime Minister added, “Every role in ensuring Ukraine’s security contributes to the security of our continent and the security of this country.” British troops could be deployed alongside soldiers from other European countries at the border between Ukrainian and Russian territories.
