At least 39 people have been injured in the aftermath of a deliberate attack on a demonstration in Munich, the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office announced, citing a report by the Focus magazine. Two days after the incident, a two-year-old child has succumbed to its severe injuries, the authorities revealed.
According to consistent reports from the Federal Prosecutor’s Office and the police, the number of injured has risen to at least 39 since Friday morning, with more victims coming forward. Initially, there was confusion over the number of injured, following a report of 36 injured alongside the accusation of 39 attempted murders.
A neighbor of the Munich attacker has spoken out, sharing new details about the Afghan man. “I knew him, he was always nice” the woman said. However, she noted a change in his behavior in the days leading up to the attack. “A friend of mine lives next to him. She told me that he would often shout loudly in his apartment – very loudly – in the days before the attack. He also cried heavily” the neighbor added.
