Billionaire Kühne Still Sees a Listing as a Possibility

German tycoon Klaus-Michael Kühne still sees an IPO for mobility services provider Flix as a possibility, despite his investment in the company. Kühne, along with Swedish financial investor EQT, invested around one billion euros in Flix in July 2024, with both holding a 15% stake in the firm.

Although the Flix leadership had considered an IPO, it was ultimately scrapped after EQT and Kühne’s offer. However, Kühne does not rule out a potential listing in the future, stating that “the bigger the company, the more a question like this arises.” Flix was founded in 2013 and offers bus and train services, with partner companies providing the actual transportation while Flix handles the network’s management and sales through its technology platform.
