The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) has excluded the possibility of a coalition with the AfD after the federal election. “Our position has always been clear” said BSW General Secretary Christian Leye to “Ippen-Media” (Tuesday’s edition). “No cooperation or coalition with the AfD, but seriousness and listening to the voters of that party, who are angry about the political circumstances.”
Previously, Left Party politician Gregor Gysi told “Ippen-Media” that he could imagine a government participation of BSW and AfD. “Yes, I can imagine it” he said in response to a corresponding question. “Sahra once said: Höcke is a right-wing extremist, but the others are conservative-liberal” the Left Party politician claimed. “Such formulations are preparing for a cooperation with the AfD by Sahra.”
Gysi also believes that a government cooperation at the state level is possible. “In Thuringia, Höcke is too extreme, but in other states, I would trust them, as long as the AfD presents itself in a more moderate way” he said.
