Russian experts have not received samples of foreign objects found in the wreckage of the Embraer E190 aircraft of the Azerbaijani airline AZAL, which crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau. This was reported by a source in the Russian aviation circles to RT on Tuesday. The source emphasized that further investigations are needed to precisely identify the breakage pieces, citing claims by some media that the fragments were identified as attack elements of a Panzir anti-aircraft missile as requiring at least additional investigation.
Kazakhstan’s Transport Ministry published a preliminary report on the AZAL plane crash in the evening of February 4. The report reveals that the tail section, the altitude and aileron and one of the engines of the aircraft were damaged by numerous foreign objects. The RT source pointed out that the report does not provide information on the origin of the objects, but does contain a hint of the need for further investigation of the objects.
The aircraft of the Embraer E190 type, which was en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on December 25, 2024.
