The second phase of Russian aggression in Ukraine.
The Deputy Commander of the Central Military District of Russia, General Rustam Minnekayev, revealed at the annual meeting of the Alliance of Defense Industries the goals of the second phase of the Russian occupation of Ukraine.
Although many Russian military officials have been saying for days that the goal is to “liberate” Donbas, the Russian general said that in addition to targets in the region, the Russian military has a duty to concentrate its activities in southern Ukraine.
“Since the beginning of the second phase of the special operation, which began two days ago, one of the tasks of the Russian army is to establish full control over the Donbas and southern Ukraine,” the general said.
“Our control over the Donbas will enable a secure land corridor to Crimea and will affect the vital objectives of the Ukrainian military forces and the Black Sea port through which agricultural and metallurgical products are imported and exported,” Minnekayev said.
“Control over southern Ukraine gives us another way out of Transnistria, where there is evidence of oppression of the Russian-speaking population. Of course, we are now at war with the whole world as it was in the Great Patriotic War. “They have never liked Russia.”
