BREAKING: Trump Exits UN Human Rights Council, Slams UNRWA Funding in Shocking Power Play

The United States has withdrawn from the United Nations Human Rights Council and the future funding of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has been blocked, according to multiple US media outlets on Tuesday.

The US funding for the organization was suspended in 2024 under the administration of Joe Biden, following allegations by Israel that a handful of UNRWA employees were involved in the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks. Investigations in this direction, however, failed to produce evidence to support these claims.

The first Trump administration had previously cut funding to the agency in 2018, before the Biden administration reinstated it in 2021. Similarly, the US was withdrawn from the UN Human Rights Council under Trump in 2018, a move that Biden reversed in 2021.
